Past Revisited #2

Dunman High 2005! Posted by Hello

Went back to DHS to give a short talk to the students about broadcasting last Monday. The experience was almost surreal, for I'd never imagined going back to my alma mater as a speaker. Told Terry I was going back and we started singing the school song in office, in front of his News team. Funny how the song is etched into our memories and never to be forgotten.

I wanted to rush back to school immediately after my shift was over, but some productions held me up. Took off like a crazed woman once Kelvin agreed to mix in the sound effects for me. I am a lucky person with great colleagues.

Couldn't stop grinning when my car arrived in the school compound. James probably thought I'd been body-snatched by the Cheshire Cat's spirit.
I couldn't help it. Some of my best teenage years were spent here. Where I played my first basketball match, learnt to play volleyball, met my gang of wonderful friends, attempted Peking opera, beat CERTAIN schools in Survival Games... And these are only some of the school-related activities. I could go on forever.

Garrick and I were pretty good, but the students were AMAZING! They were so responsive that it gave me a natural euphoric high, not to mention the autograph signing. Yeah, I know, I know. Cheap thrill.

After the presentation ended, I went to visit the teachers. Sadly, many of them had either retired or left Dunman High :(
Managed to get hold of Mdm Loo, my sec 4 Chinese teacher, and had a nice long talk with her. ZJ who's also teaching in DHS joined us in the canteen. It's strange to be colleagues with your teachers. Or at least that's what I felt when I was doing relief-teaching in PL before entering university.

Mdm Loo remembered our class with fondness and asked about everyone. According to her, I've become more beautiful, and she wouldn't be able to recognise me if I didn't call for her. Muahahahaha!!! Thank god for contact lenses and makeup!
ZJ told me that Mdm Loo's been trying to matchmake him to the other single female teachers in school. I adore my old teacher. She's so farny!

Stayed on for a while more to watch the little minions carry out the annual inter-class games. If only I had my sneakers on that day... Anyway, ZJ's managed to track down our lovely eccentric Physics teacher, thus we'll be visiting him soon.

Ah, 'twas a good walk down the memory lane...
