listening to jack johnson's 'Good People'...
Spent most of today in a dazed state, drifting in and out of sleep.
I should write something about the trip, but somehow I'm stuck.
Don't know where to begin coz almost everything was excellent:
#My travelling companions, my good machi-s.
#Neon signboards in traditional Chinese characters.
#Sugary sweet voices of Taiwanese ladies, which we're all trying to imitate but failing terribly.
#Hot sulphurous spring baths, where we attained the Nirvana state of camaraderie.
#Cheap but yummy food like mango ice, beef noodles, sausages, duck's tongue, squid stew :-D
#24 hour KTV with the latest music videos.
#Gigantic bookstore with massive collection of chinese books and magazines.
#South Park cartoon in Mandarin.
#Playing stupid game at Ding Tai Feng in order to finish the food (*people queue for hours for that! gawd, we are wasteful!)
#Eating gross mixture of passion fruit bubble tea/wheat germ milk tea/rice/nugget/tian-bu-la/chilli tomato paste/sotong ball 3 times because I lost while playing Indian poker at bubble tea hut.
#Clubbing at Luxy and Room 18.
#Experiencing typhoon for the first time in my life.
#Hanging out with my Taiwanese friends, and being totally at ease with one another even though we haven't met in eons...
I love Taipei, although many people think it's just another city. Even the cab drivers thought we were mad to spend a whole week there. Like Singapore, a couple of days should suffice. There are more places to venture to, eg Hualian, Kending, Yilan. Will probably revisit them soon.
Just like nine years ago, I've left a part of my heart in Taiwan again...
