listening to nelly furtado's 'Promiscuous'...
We had some sort of a Gomez moment in the canteen just now.
Kay vs the food stall auntie.
~~~
Packed char kway teow for LN, paid the auntie and told her I'd collect it after I was done with my lunch. John Boy happened to finish his meal faster, and was on his way to get coffee. So I told him to collect the packet on my behalf. 'It's been paid for,' I said and waved him away.
John Boy came back with a bewildered look and told me, 'Auntie said you haven't. She was quite sure about it, so I paid her'.
I HATE BEING WRONGLY ACCUSED.
I narrowed my eyes and heaved myself out of the seat. It's hard to look dignified when you have a crooked back, but I did as well as I could. With my hand supporting my lower back, I marched over to the food stall to confront the auntie.
Kay: Paid. Paid. Paid. Gave you the money and told you I'd come back after I'm done.
Auntie: Oh ya hor! Sorry, sorry. Haiz, you passed it to the uncle and he forgot.
Kay (cocked eyebrow): No. It was YOU. I handed the note to YOU.
Auntie (sheepishly): Paiseh paiseh... Haha... Don't be angry lah, Auntie forgot.
Anyway, this auntie is quite infamous for her bad memory. After she returned the two bucks, I trudged back to our table.
John: You should have demanded to replay the video clip. Then again, this is char kway teow, not bar-chor mee nor pig's liver.
