Goodbye Zidane!

listening to chris brown's 'Gimme That...

The Azzurri won.
5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw against the French, who was left with ten men after Zidane got sent out.

I was biting my nails throughout the entire match (less calories than potato chips and more convenient than cup noodles).
Both sides were playing rough and there was so much tackling on the field. Kinda scary actually. Zidane's seventh minute penalty shot seemed so nonchalent, nevertheless, a lethal one. Italy was aggressive and the defence was watertight. Cannavaro was a fine epitome of chilli padi, small but fiery. I had to eat an orange and keep drinking water to calm my frazzled nerves.

90 minutes. Whistle blown. Match went into the thirty minute extra time.

At the 110th minute, the French captain suddenly went berserk and head-butted Materazzi. The referee didn't see it happen, but his assistants did. Buffon and a few others also came over to protest. I was shaking my head when I saw the Argentina referee reached out for his pocket. *horror* Red card.

Noooooooooooo!!!!

Maybe it was because Materazzi had grabbed Zidane shirt to hold him back. Maybe Materazzi had whispered in his ear, 'Eh, Botak, save it. We'll win the cup'. Many maybes, but Zidance should have kept his cool. Beat up the Italian after the match. *bish bish bish bish*

"What a stupid thing Zidane has done!" exclaimed the commentator.

Yes it was! Definitely the worst way to end his career, his swan song. He couldn't even stay on bench. Sob sob!!! Goodbye Zidane :-(

I support neither France nor Italy, just Zidane. May the better team win, and the Italians proved that they were the best in the world.
