I will not attempt football talk. Not masterful enough to come up with anything credible. The only thing I'm proud of, is that I can rattle off players' names in Mandarin.
With two older godbrothers who are football fanatics, I was crazy about football when I was younger... the 98 World Cup, 96 Euro Cup, as well as the Malaysia Cup eons ago. Then I got distracted and shifted my attention to everything else.
However, after watching last night/ this morning's matches, I just HAVE to write about it:
1) England put up a fairly good fight after Rooney got sent off, but the formation they used wasn't suitable for a ten-man play.
2) Crouch was so clumsy! Each time he tripped over his own legs, the crowd at Liquid Kitchen would laugh and shake their heads.
3) Portugal wasn't all that excellent. 10 vs 11 leh!!! *tsk tsk tsk* Luckily for the saves by Ricardo :P
4) Hugo Viana the Portugal midfielder resembles Michael Vartan from 'Alias'.
5) Alamak! Cristiano really reminded me of my prefect classmate back in primary school. "Teacher! Kay's reading Archie comics under the table!" Fast forward to 2006, Germany. "Referee! Rooney stepped on Carvalho's groin!"
That's all for the England vs Portugal match.
Next, I am going to gush about my botak hero, Zidane. I used to support him only because we share the same birthday. Bizarre reason but it prevents my loyalty from wavering. You can't switch birthdates.
After watching him on Sunday morning, I finally appreciate the beauty of good skills.
ZINEDINE ZIDANE!!!

The French captain was fantastic! He was magical! His passes were amazing! His nifty footwork was captivating!
I can't rave enough...
You go Zizou, for the semi-finals!
Erm, in case you don't play too well again (TOUCHWOOD), I'll still root for you coz... yeah, we share the same birthday.
