listening to tao zhe's '22'...
After grabbing some books from the library, I went to meet the college cronies. The Rotting Log community turned dormant when Ms Chong went away two years ago. With her return, I think the group is slowly awakening.
We wasted the entire Saturday afternoon in Holland V. Lunch was Jap food, and the music accompaniment was an eclectic mix of J-pop and Chinese wayang. The restaurant's sound proofing couldn't beat the cymbals and gongs from the ge-tai (lunar seventh month's stage show) next door. Quite amusing actually.
Headed off to Settlers' Cafe to check the place out. Had heard about it some time back, but scoffed at the idea. Place to play boardgames? Gawd. That's so juvenile.
I'm a bitch at times, so shoot me. However, it turned out to be an interesting concept afterall and I had to eat crow.
Verdict: We are OLD. When the door opened, we could hear the high pitched chatters of the teenage patrons. Quote of the day by Lock,
"Let's ask for senior citizen discount."
Two hours zipped by. To reconnect with adulthood, we adjourned to Baden for beer. 1 for 1 during happy hours made us merry and sparked off plans for next Saturday's session.
Only one blemish marred the session: Parking coupon expired so Zappy kenna his first parking summon. Bah! *snarl in absolute contempt*
