listening to james morrison's 'Wonderful World'...
"You're a saviour."
I helped a lady on Monday night, and this was what she said to me.
After the test, before the next lecture, Justine and I went to get some grub to fill the rumbling tum. While walking across the driveway, we saw this car in a rather awkward position. Its undercarriage was lying atop the concrete road divider. Half the car was on the divider's right, the other on its left. Still don't get the picture? Simply put, it was STUCK.
The woman in her forties came out of the car looking totally frantic. I could have just left the job to some guy, but being my usual meddlesome self, I went over to take a closer look. Fortunately only one wheel was across the divider. I told her to step on the accelerator and reverse hard. The first attempt failed coz she didn't dare to rev up the engine. Told the lady to 'just do it or you won't get off it'.
VRRRRROOOOOM! And voila!
The car came down from the divider with a bump. No damage, save for a few scratches.
She thanked me and called me a saviour.
I'm not a saviour. I'm just a passerby, who was at the right place at the right time.
Glad to be of assistance :)
ps: This is completely out of context but I had kiam chye duck soup for lunch today. Soup was alright, but the duck was smelly. Had a strong fowl/ foul stench. Grrrr...
