Intense friendship time

listening to sammi cheng's 'Ke Neng Bu Ke Neng'...
愛變成秘密 藏在最心底
只要想起你 其他都多餘
終於我們只是 短暫的遭遇
雖然背地裡 揮之不去

I love Sammi Cheng. I love this song.
Especially now coz I'm feeling shitty.

Major catching up with friends at the start of 2007 before we get sucked into the abyss of work.

Wei, E and I decided on an impromptu session on Friday night.
We went to Brussel Sprouts at the Pier for beer, mussels and bubblies.
The mussels in white wine were okay, but I wouldn't rave about them. According to E, the Thai version was better. I liked the fries though. You can't go wrong with crispy, thick fries. That and its good service were enough reasons for me to visit a second time.
We passed the champagne cork around, and whoever in possession of it, had to answer questions from the other two. It's always nice to sit and chat with old friends.
The alcohol worked its magic, and we had a pretty giggly night.

Saturday's gathering with the JC group was supposed to be in Marmalade Pantry. Too bad the place was crowded and we ended up in Fish & Co. Lunch there convinced me once again why I prefer Manhattan Fish Market. You know age is catching up when the conversation topics revolve around properties, weddings and kids. Gone are the days when we were contented with trivial gossips like keeping track of JH's latest beau. Before I left, Ms Chong bravely took up the task to organise the next session. Yeah! Time to check out another new food place.

Major pig out time when I went for high tea buffet with the Bizcommers. Lena, Fred and I agreed beforehand to show off at least one item we'd bought during the trip. So Lena carried her bag, I wore my new top and shoes. We can always count on Fred to be vain. He was dressed from head to toe in his latest acquisitions. Even the bag and wallet were new. Fred wins!
What else did we talk about besides the NYC vacation? WEDDINGS AGAIN!!!

*cue for Kay to run out, shrieking on top of her voice*
Much as I love my friends and wedding celebrations, there's only so much I can take in one day.

Met Karen at Gardens last night. Another one walking down the aisle this year. She's more cheerful, less angsty than she's ever been. It's amazing how love has transformed my fiesty friend within a short span of one year.

K: You know how I rolled my eyes at Bei and PM, when they dispensed their auntie advices?
Kay: Them saying stuff like how you just know it when you meet the right person? Yeah...
K: (looked me in the eye) Babe, they are right. You will know it when you meet that person.

Look, Karen, I believe you, but that's not going to stop me from freaking out.
