After the VT incident

listening to augustana's 'Boston'...
I think I'll go to Boston
I think that I'm just tired
I think I need a new town to leave these all behind
I think I need a sunrise
I'm tired of the sunset

If my geography knowledge didn't fail me, I think I visited Boston during the roadtrip with the girls. There was an Italian restaurant, Vinny (or something), where food was served in gigantic proportions. I want to go to Boston again. For a different reason.

A couple of friends wanted to send me the link for the V Tech shootout on Youtube. I declined their offers. It's a tragic incident and I don't wanna to join in the media frenzy. Not sure if there would be repercussion on the Asian community over in the US. That guy was a troubled person, who happened to be Korean.
Don't let racist opportunists use this chance to hit out at Asians.

Cho Seung-Hui might not behave in this way, if someone could show him love.

Whose duty was it to show him love then? The school? The friends? The society? His family?

Similar discussions took place after the Columbine high school massacre, Amish schoolhouse tragedy and other shootouts. The public voice shouts out for us to care for people around after such things happen. But it dies down when the memory fades away... until another incident occurs.

We never really learn to love :(

Well, I have no answer.

It is a lot easier said than done. :(
