Cooking @ at-sunrise

listening to vanness' 'Fang Shou'...

Went to at-sunrise, Fort Canning for the company welfare event.
I've never really enjoyed slaving in the kitchen, but to my surprise, cooking was quite fun afterall. Four dishes later, I felt like the female version of Gordan Ramsay.
Yea yea, forty-five minutes in the kitchen does not make one a Michelin chef. But I don't give a hoot. I can pretend to be whoever I feel like being.

Menu
1. Herbal roast chicken
2. Mashed potatoes in basil oil
3. Mango and vegetable spring rolls
4. Fruit compote with vanilla ice-cream
We whipped up a storm and had a mini competition with the Vietnamese spring rolls.
Everyone laughed at our frogman creation. My team thought the normal food presentation was too boring, so we headed for the other extreme. According to the instructor, we'd definitely have come in first... if the theme was 'Food for kids'. Oh well, at least we received prizes for coming up with the ugliest.

Although we might have the worst looking plate of stuff, our food tasted so good. The team that came in second had to steal our mash coz theirs was bland and icky. Muahahaha! I shall say this out loud: Looks don't matter!

The only few chefs I can remember would be: Ramsay, Bourdain, Martin Yen... and 方太.
Hahaha!!!

hey i loved 方太 when i was a kid.Always secretly coverted her 'chain of spoons' where she would very expertly flip between various ones to do her seasoning..unfortunately mummy did not have holes in her spoons for me to chain them up.
