Wahiro @ Katong Mall

listening to la roux's 'In For The Kill'...
Duckie was blasting this from his room.
The vocal's a tad screamy but it's still good.
I'm loving electropop these day.
(SL, if u're reading this, thanks to you... in a good way of coz!)

Funny how I'm blogging about Jap cuisine when I just had Japanese food today. Then again, everybody loves Jap food.

Dinner @ Wahiro last Sunday to celebrate J's birthday and to mark Wahiro's last day at Katong Mall. They're moving elsewhere. The omakase meal was mind-blowing and the dinner company was great fun. Thanks to J for asking me along! (How come I seem to be thanking people a lot these days?)

The pair of antennae was still moving when we stepped into the restaurant. I think it was trying to tell us not to pick it. But alas! Now you're alive. Now you're not:

Mr Lobster, sorry but you're yummy:

Sweet Japanese baby daikon with spring onions:

In that particular sake, all that glitters IS gold:

Someone told me it's bamboo clam and some kind of fish cake:

Seared hotate and some unidentified brown rectangular stuff. The white vege at the bottom had a texture like 淮山. I believe it's japanese yam aka yama imo:

When these were served, there was silence at the table. Way too good! The uni was light, sweet and delish. I always love to burst ikura fish roes in my mouth so that my tastebuds would be enveloped by the flavour:

Another quiet moment as everyone slurped up the bowls of goodness. Myojo cup duck porridge doesn't even come remotely close:

Black sesame ice-cream and yuzu sorbet to clear the palate:

Overall verdict, I'll borrow CGSH's fav words: simply orgasmic!!!
