Backtrack Xmas

Lil Ms Procrastinator in action.
Started this post on 25 December. Only finished it today.
~~~
listening to more Christmas tunes...
"Tis' the season to be jolly, fa-lalalala-lalalala."
Something's wrong somewhere.
It ought to be: 'Tis the season to be FAT and jolly'.
Pardon my griping about the extra pounds coz it'll go on for some time. At least till I finally get rid of them.
Be gone, you unwanted fats! New Year is coming, and I need to exterminate you evils to make room for the new ones.
Gorge then exercise. Diet then binge.
Will this cycle never end?
Round 1
Date: 23 December 2005
Time: 2pm
Venue: Secret Garden, somewhere near Middle Road
Fellow Victims: Colleagues and bosses
Culprits: Four course lunch, and some lovely Moet bubblies
It was crazy. Everyone was overwhelmed by the festive mood. We talked too loudly, cheered too madly, chanted too fervently. So much hugging and good-will thumping going around that I almost had food coming out from the mouth due to the incessant squeezing. Yew, gross.
Round 2
Date: 23 December 2005
Time: 8pm
Venue: Char's place, somewhere near Dunearn Road
Fellow Victims: Bizcommers and affiliates
Culprits: Char's salad, Fred's stuffing, Banana's 30 chicken pies, Kay's pizzas, BW's roast beef, Susu's turkey, Joey's strudel and ice cream, LL's pork knuckles, SA's chocs etc...
We had so much food, there wasn't enough space on the dining table.
Solution? To keep on eating.
The usual practice is to have two rounds of gift exchange. A normal one, as well as a $10 ridiculous (read: rubbish) present. Last year's weird stuff included toothbrushes, a bag of sugar, self-spinning Chuppa chup. This year's pressies were ingenious. Bak-kua, a book of parking coupons, magazines, and a bag of cherries. Must start planning for next year's. As for my decent present, it was from Banana, who bought me a set of pretty dangly earrings.
Drove down to Zouk to meet TY and her friends. It was one of the guys' birthday, and I suspect the rest of them were trying drown him in alcohol. With the amount he imbibed, I really thought he might become combustible. After a quick drink, went off home to crash. Zzzz...
Round 3
Date: 24 December 2005
Time: 8pm
Venue: Aunt L's place
Fellow Victims: Family
Culprits: Xmas buffet, at least eight types of cakes and desserts brought over by everyone, bottles of wine and champagne from Uncle E's collection.
The roast beef was mouthwatering. The log cake was tantalizing. The stollen was excellent. So was everything else. I stopped moving coz I couldn't budge anymore. The morphosis of human into Fat Slug.
Love all my presents. Kay was a Fat Slug. Nevertheless, a Happy Fat Slug.
Round 4
Date: 25 December 2005
Time: 8pm
Venue:Garrick's place
Fellow Victims: DL troupe, Cindy, Ian, Joey
Culprits: Sushi, fried chicken, Oishi pizzas (the unagi one was good!), salad, log cake etc
Besides stuffing our faces, we had a riotous time playing the board game Imagine If. By now, the whole team knows that my ultimate goal is to become the queen. Even colleagues who were not present were not spared. Juicy details will NOT be disclosed.
Also watched cheesy mandarin ghost flicks from the 80's.
They don't make classic horror movies like these anymore!
The makeup and hairdos were frightful, and the flickering of the corridor lights was overused in that era. But gimme those! I prefer them to the slick, enhanced horror films in cinemas these days.
Left G's place at 4ish.
As I'd mentioned before, going on leave always makes me more tired.
You're looking at one Happy Tired Fat Slug.
