listening to nkotb's 'Time Is On Our Side'...
SA once mournfully commented, 'I don't think Char's coming back after her studies,'.
We nodded in agreement. And the planning for her series of bye-byes began.
The pack headed for Velvet on Thursday as it was Char's last day at work. BW and Derek were the earliest to arrive, followed by Kay. We were tickled by SL's woebegone expression when she alighted from her car.
'So sleepy...' she whined.
Lena deserved the Good Sport of the Night award. After she touched down at the airport from her business trip, she went home to get the car and joined us. *clap clap*
Over the jugs of drinks and loud music, Char ahemed and made her announcement,
'Boys and girls, from today forth, I'm officially unemployed. I'm a poor student!'
Coming from a gal who was flying the next day for her holiday trip, it wasn't very convincing. The poor student part. Especially when she reminded us to visit her in NY at the end of the year for mega shopping spree. Nevertheless, we're looking forward to paying this poor student a visit in December.
It's always good to have pals around. SA and Lena refused to let me out of sight, in case I caved in to the urge for irrational behaviour. And I didn't. Okay. Sorta.
2ish in the morning they went off for supper, while I went back to catch a nap.
Three hours later, I was bright and chirpy at work again.
Next on the Char's farewell agenda: slumber party.
