Dinner @ Sebastien's

listening to tupac & dr dre's 'California Love'...

Yesterday's morning run was terrible.
I couldn't complete my usual 4km route, and ended up walking a third of the journey. My chest felt stuffy and my nose was runny. Legs were heavy as lead.
Thought of pushing the blame to the slight flu that I'm suffering from currently, but honestly, it was probably due to the heavy meal the night before.
To make up for it, I shall go for a longer run today after my outdoor event.

Dinner with the Gohs and E was at Sebastien's, which is located along Greenwood Avenue.

An enchanting event with nice wine, good food, great companions in a cosy establishment. A refreshing change from the usual alcohol galore on Friday nights. Check out what we ate.

Entrees:
# Escargot profiteroles with garlic puree
# Salad of pan-fried foie gras with port wine
# Chef's special: sauteed chicken liver salad

Thumbs up! The sauces were excellent, especially the glazed port wine coz Kay's got a penchant for strong tasting stuff. I could just dip bread in and eat that forever.

Main courses:
# Baked scallops in champagne sauce (e's)
# Beef stewed in red wine (Getty's)
# Roasted lamb rack (XL's)
# Crispy pork belly & trotter stuffed with foie gras (Kay's)

I was torn between the pig and seabass.
Oink oink won despite the initial suspicion that it might turn out greasy and gross. Good choice, for the pork belly turned out wonderful. Crispy skin that went 'crunch' with every bite, a thin sliver of fat and well marinated meat layer... Three layered meat never tasted so good.

The stuff trotter was flavourful, but somehow it reminded me of ngor heong. My granny's version is comparable to the Sebastien's goose liver stuffed ngor heong. I love the presentation of the dish though. The two pieces of crisp belly resembled Piglet's ears, and the trotter looked like a snout.

The jolly waitress who served us recommended souffle and warm chocolate cake for dessert.
You know my choice. Warm chocolate cake that had fudge oozing out once you cut into its centre. A scoop of vanilla ice cream and berries by the side. Heavenly!

Even just writing about the meal is filling. I better start on my next diet plan.
